Monday Night Novena

As members of the Redemptorist Order, our St. James priests are aware of the tremendous healing miracles that can occur by praying a novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  Our parish celebrates these novena devotions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help each Monday evening at 7:00 pm.

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP)

Contact Person: Bert and Paula McGoff   McGoff@carolina.rr.com

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is a weekend retreat designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ.  All parishioners 19 years of age and older are encouraged to attend. Take advantage of this opportunity to hear and discuss how we live as Catholics in our modern complex society.  Starting in 2011 additional CRHP Retreats are now offered to accommodate our Hispanic Community as well.
Men’s and Women’s CRHP retreats are each held two times a year.  They begin on Saturday morning and end on Sunday afternoon.  They are held at our parish hall, where the classrooms are transformed into the St. James Hilton with air mattresses, cots and sleeping bags.  (It’s really quite comfortable for a short stay.)  Meals are provided by the parish, you don’t even have to do dishes.  This weekend is being presented by our own parish teams.  Come prepared to have fun and renew your heart.  The process is centered around reflection by team members with emphasis on small group discussion and activities. You will be free to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.  Sacraments are part of the weekend along with plenty of reflection and prayer time. Please join us for a life changing, spiritual renewal.  Call the parish office for a reservation form, pick one up in the church vestibule or get a reservation form  online.

Contact Person: Armando Chavarria     armandoc@saintjamescatholic.org

Young Adult Ministry (YAM) is a movement of young adults reaching out to their peers with the love and light of Christ.  We know that nothing impacts the heart of a young adult like a community of believers living out the love of Christ in their daily interactions ...ready, willing and able to be servant leaders who point our friends, communities and world to the love of Christ in relatable, relevant, real ways.
Young Adults in their 20’s and 30’s searching for spiritual growth, knowledge in their faith and have desire to help others, are invited to attend these fun-filled get-togethers. Come and ask questions, find answers and get the support you want. Let’s walk for a while, together on this faith journey; whether in college, single, married, or have a family, we all have something to bring to the table to help each other grow in love, faith and service to God.

Abundant Life Charismatic Prayer group meets on Mondays at 7:45 - 8:45 PM  after the Novena Mass.

We meet in the Chapel at the back of the Church. Our meetings include inspired praise and worship, quiet listening time, faith and scripture sharing, mini teachings and intercessory prayer. Through these activities and actively using the gifts of the Spirit such as prophecy, inspired prayer, and praying in tongues we develop the gift of Discernment and learn how to be lead by the Holy Spirit. Best of all we deepen our intimacy with our Lord. Jesus always shows up.

Jesus says "The Father seeks worshipers who worship in Spirit and Truth", in these meetings the Spirit truly helps us to fulfill this desire.  Come learn how praise and worship can be a powerful ministry within the Church.  We welcome all visitors.

Vocations

Contact Person: Father Joseph Dionne     Josephd@saintjamescatholic.org

"Vocation" comes from the Latin word vocare (to call) and means the work a person is called to by God. Discerning your vocation, to married life, life as a religious or the single life requires thinking deeply about how to live a life of consequence to make a difference in the world through our chosen career. There are all different kinds of voices calling you to all different kinds of work, and the problem is to find out which is the voice of God. If you feel God calling you to the priesthood or religious life, please make an appointment and talk to one of our priests, they can help get you started on the path of discernment.  St. James Parish and the Redempterist Community have vocation awareness or discernment programs for both young and mature men and women.  The program for young men 13 years and older is called “Crossroads”.  The program for young girls is called “Defining Moments”. These programs provide teens with annual fun weekend retreats where the youth can better understand all vocations– mother, father, single, or religious life.  The programs for both female and male adults is called “Come and See”.  These are  programs where the serious participants go to a seminary house to shadow one of the residents.  These usually start on a Thursday and end on Sunday. Look for announcement in the bulletin.
