WHAT WE OFFER 



Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Level 1
Ages 3-5 (must be potty-trained)
This is a Montessori-based and learning style of religious education. 

Class Time Choices

Wednesdays, 4:15-5:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, 6:15-7:30 p.m.
Thursdays, 5:30-6:45 p.m. 


Children’s Faith Formation 
Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
First Communion Preparation begins in Grade 2 (Year 2), students must have completed Grade 1 (Year 1) to be eligible for Grade 2/First Communion Preparation. 

Class Time Choices
Wednesdays, 4:15-5:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, 6:15-7:30 p.m.
Thursdays, 5:30-6:45 p.m. 

Middle School Faith Formation
Grades 6, 7, 8
Confirmation Preparation classes begin in 7th grade (Year 1) and continue through 8th grade (Year 2).  If student has not completed 7th grade (Year 1), he/she is not eligible for 8th grade (Year 2).

Thursdays, 5:30-6:45 p.m. 


Alternative/Additional Faith Formation Programs


Step Up in Faith (SUIF)
Grades 3-11 
This specialized program is designed to assist students who have not received some of their sacraments:  First Reconciliation/First Communion and for some students who are older than 14, Confirmation.  If student is not baptized, he/she will be required to attend RCIC program. 

This program is a two-year process for sacramental preparation (Year 1 student is placed in regular faith formation class and Year 2 student will have a solid Catholic curriculum along with sacramental preparation before receiving sacrament).     

Rite of Christian Initiation for Children/Teens (RCIC)
This is for students 7 years of age through 11th grade who have not received the sacrament of Baptism.  The classes will begin in September and are on Wednesday evenings.


 WHAT DO I NEED TO COMPLETE REGISTRATION?



1.  If you are new to our parish, you will need to make sure you are registered with our parish to register for Faith Formation.  If your son/daughter was in Faith Formation at another parish, we need a letter from the parish stating his/her active enrollment. 
2.  You will need your checking account/credit card/debit card to make payment; you will have the option to designate payment plan options
3.  If you are in need of financial assistance for tuition, you will need to contact Kayla D'Allura in the Religious Education Office for an application, 704-720-0600x729
4.  You will need each child’s baptism date/parish/city/state (and First Communion if applicable).
      If the sacrament was received at St. James we will still need date.
